This underground transition detail connects a lateral pipe to a barbed fitting using threaded schedule 80 machined nipples, Marlex street ells, and a lateral tee or ell. The assembly is installed beneath a finish grade of two to three inches of soil and three to four inches of mulch. All threaded and solvent-welded joints route water from the main lateral line up to the drip emitter connection point.
