A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel column and intersecting steel beams supporting a roof deck. The beams frame into the column webs using bolted connection angles, with stiffener plates provided near side and far side as required by the manufacturer. A gusset plate and attachment weld to the beam flange and column, transferring lateral loads from the buckling-restrained brace into the primary structural frame. Additional stiffener plates are located inside the steel column web at the brace intersection.
