A 1 1/4-inch nominal pipe size steel pipe handrail is supported by a 3/8-inch diameter steel bracket arm mounted to a gypsum board wall assembly. The design maintains a minimum clearance of 1 1/2 inches and provides a 2 1/4-inch clear distance from the wall surface.
