A fire-rated enclosure surrounds a 4-inch cast iron grease waste pipe and an existing heat-traced PVC pipe passing through existing backfill material. The assembly is built with two layers of 5/8-inch gypsum board on 3-5/8-inch metal studs, packed tightly with fire safing around the penetrations. The pipes pass through an existing sleeve with a link seal, set within existing waterproofing over retaining walls and footings.
