A freestanding furred low wall is constructed with two-and-a-half-inch metal stud assemblies faced with painted gypsum wallboard and finished with metal trim. The assembly stands forty-two inches above the finish floor and is topped with a one-inch plywood substrate supporting a quartz countertop. Sealant with a backer rod is applied at joints. The low wall wraps around architectural exposed structural steel with a painted finish, which provides structural bracing.
