A compressible slip track is anchored to the structure above using one-quarter-inch powder-driven fasteners spaced at two feet on center with a two-inch end distance typically. Studs are secured to the slip track with screws at each stud while remaining free to move vertically within the slip track to accommodate structural deflection. Wall studs incorporate bridging and are fastened through each side of the wall using number ten screws. The base of the partition is secured to the floor slab with five-thirty-second-inch diameter powder-driven fasteners spaced at twenty-four inches on center with a two-inch end distance.
