This one-hour fire-rated head of wall assembly features a rated gypsum board partition with a minimum three and five-eighths inch studs terminating below a structural steel floor beam. A deflection track accommodates movement, accompanied by mineral wool forming material installed flush to adjacent surfaces. Spray-applied fire sealant with a minimum one-half inch overlap is applied to the joint assembly. The floor assembly consists of a minimum two and one-half inch structural concrete slab over a steel deck, with spray-applied fireproofing on the supporting beam.
