A cast-in-place concrete fountain pool wall is topped with a stone coping and finished with stone veneer. A one-half-inch mortar bed with backer rod and sealant supports the stone coping, set over continuous metal flashing with caulked penetrations. The concrete core is grouted solid and features a water stop embedded within a joint with sealant and backer rod. Stone veneer continues below finish grade and is secured with anchors as required by the stone supplier, with stone radius cut to match wall radii. A one-half-inch full depth expansion joint and sealant separates the pool wall assembly from adjacent paving.
