One-and-one-half-inch main runners are nested together with a one-foot-zero-inch minimum overlap. Double loops of eighteen-gauge wire are tied typically near the ends of the splice. Seven-eighths-inch cross furring is attached below the runners with screws at six inches on center supporting the finish ceiling.
