Angle braces sized three by three by one-quarter inches are welded to the steel beam and adjacent roof framing with three-sixteenths-inch and one-quarter-inch fillet welds. The roof assembly includes plywood sheathing fastened to four-inch or six-inch nailers with seven-eighths-inch diameter wood screws at twelve inches on center. Steel bar joists bear on the steel beam, which is sized per the roof framing plan. Angle braces are installed after the roof is completed and coordinated with sprinkler pipe locations. Braces must be located within six inches of a top chord panel point or require an auxiliary web.
