A metal deflection track matching the gauge of the wall stud is fastened to the CLT deck. A metal runner track of the same gauge as the stud is nested inside the deflection track while maintaining a one-half-inch gap. Gypsum board is attached to the studs only and left unattached to the deflection track. Continuous beads of non-hardening sealant are applied along the intersection of the runner and the inner layer of gypsum board. The gap between the gypsum and the structure measures one-quarter to three-eighths of an inch and is completely filled with sealant.
METAL RUNNER TRACK (SAME GAUGE AS STUD) NESTED INTO DEFLECTION TRACK. MAINTAIN 1/2" GAP. SSD. CLT DECK. REFER TO STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS. METAL DEFLECTION TRACK. GAUGE TO MATCH GAGE OF WALL STUD. FASTEN TO DECK WITH PARTITION TYPE AS INDICATED ON THE FLOOR PLANS ATTACH GYPSUM BOARD TO STUDS ONLY. DO NOT ATTACH TO DEFLECTION TRACK CONTINUOUS BEADS OF NON-HARDENING SEALANT ALONG INTERSECTION OF RUNNER AND INNER LAYER OF GYP.
