The assembly is constructed with one-inch gypsum shaftwall coreboard on one side supported by cold-formed metal stud framing. Acoustic batt insulation fills the stud cavity. Five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard is applied in multiple layers to the exterior face of the framing.
