A hollow metal door frame connects to metal stud jamb framing finished with painted gypsum board. The exterior wall assembly consists of metal studs packed with four to six inches minimum of spray-applied closed-cell thermal insulation, covered by exterior gypsum sheathing and a fluid-applied air and vapor barrier. A two-and-a-half-inch rigid cavity insulation layer supports a stone veneer panel system anchored with thermally broken connections. Self-adhered flashing wraps the door opening, and the stone returns back to the wall assembly with a three-eighths-inch sealant joint at the frame interface.
