A prefabricated roof curb supplied by the rooftop unit manufacturer rests on fire-retardant treated wood blocking as required by the HVAC contractor. The roof system incorporates a minimum R-30 insulation layer over the roof structure. Flexible flashing wraps up over the curb and is secured with a termination bar, adhered and sealed per manufacturer specifications. A vapor barrier is sealed to all penetrations, and the unit serves as flashing with an eight-inch minimum height above the canopy.
