A structural steel wide-flange column is enclosed within a cast-in-place concrete profile measuring 1 foot 4 inches square. Internal reinforcement is provided by a continuous rectangular tie configuration set within the concrete cover. The assembly provides fireproofing and architectural enclosure for the structural steel shape.
