Roof framing supports a mechanical equipment platform spanning across steel bar joists spaced at eight feet on center. Three-inch full-width nailers sit on the bar joists with WPU hangers and four-by or six-by blocking. For leveling the platform, use four-by shaped continuous members all around with one-inch diameter lag screws at twenty-four inches on center with four inches of embedment into the framing member below roof sheathing. A prefabricated level curb anchors to the curb by the manufacturer, secured with number ten screws by two inches long at twelve inches on center all around. The sizing chart specifies four-by-eight members for a maximum weight of nine hundred pounds, four-by-ten members for fifteen hundred pounds, and six-by-eight members for twenty-five hundred pounds, verified with the equipment supplier to suit the mechanical equipment.
