The stair stringers, provided by others, frame into the supporting steel beam assembly with a three-inch by quarter-inch weld. An angle measuring four by three by a quarter inches is centered on the lower longitudinal flute nearest to the stair stringer and secured with an eighth-inch weld at twelve-inch spacing on near and far sides. A three-eighths-inch plate is welded to the beam flange with a quarter-inch fillet weld, providing one-half inch clearance above and below. Full depth stiffeners are located on each side at the stair stringer but not shown.
