An aluminum door frame integrates with a metal stud wall construction finished with two layers of Type X gypsum board and a 5/8-inch fire-retardant-treated plywood sub-layer. The stud cavity is filled with batt insulation, and wall tile is applied over one face with a 1/4-inch offset. Metal cornerbeads reinforce each side of the gypsum board returns at the frame. Sealant is applied all around on each side between the frame and wall finishes. An aluminum door with glazing fits into the frame per the door schedule.
