A non-rated cold-formed steel partition head runs parallel to a concrete-filled metal deck. The deflection track is secured to the underside of the concrete deck using two powder-actuated Hilti X-U fasteners spaced at twenty-four inches on center with one and one-quarter inch embedment. The steel studs connect to the deflection track with number ten sheet metal screws on each side, while gypsum board is secured to the studs below the track. A three-inch by three-inch by sixteen gauge bent plate spans a minimum of three flutes of the deck with a one and one-half inch lap on each side. Two three-eighths inch Hilti KB-TZ expansion bolts with a minimum two-inch embedment anchor the bent plate to the concrete deck. A diagonal metal stud brace connects to the bent plate and the wall stud, sized according to the included twenty gauge diagonal brace schedule based on stud size and brace length.
