A fire-rated aluminum frame head for a wood door is set within a framed partition. The wall is finished with five-eighths inch thick Type X gypsum wallboard on each side and incorporates a box header as required, coordinated with the partition type. A continuous acoustical sealant is applied on all sides between the aluminum frame and the partition. The head condition features an extruded aluminum frame, an integral smoke seal, and intumescent tape for fire protection. A fire-rated wood door hangs below, with finishes per the door schedule.
