A standard exterior concrete walkway assembly consists of a five-inch thick concrete slab poured over a six-inch thick processed aggregate base resting on a prepared subgrade. Vertical dimensions indicate the thickness of both the concrete wear surface and the granular base layer. A general note specifies that all sidewalks shall have a maximum cross slope of 2 percent.
