Steel joists connect to a precast concrete wall panel utilizing an angle tie assembly with welded studs and splice plates. A continuous ledger angle, sized as L 5x3 1/2x3/4, anchors to the wall via 7/8-inch diameter anchor bolts in horizontally slotted holes at panel joints. The steel joist top chord attaches to the angle with a 3/16-inch fillet weld, while stiffener plates and 7/8-inch diameter welded studs provide additional reinforcement where axial loads exceed 26.0 kips. Splice plates measuring 3/4 inch by 7 inches by 1 foot 7 inches bridge panel joints with 5/16-inch fillet welds on three sides. At the wall interface, an 18-gauge by 1 1/2-inch wide galvanized continuous strap fastens over the plywood sheathing and 3x nailer with powder-driven fasteners.
