This assembly consists of checkered steel plate treads and steel risers supported by hollow structural section steel stringers. A one and one-half inch diameter pipe guardrail post is welded to the stringer with all welds ground smooth. The guardrail includes one and one-half inch diameter pipe members, also welded and ground smooth, with shop-primed and site-painted finishes per specifications. A two-inch wide safety yellow warning stripe is applied to the stair nosing. Steel connections are provided by the stair supplier, and the assembly maintains a maximum seven-inch riser height, an eleven-inch minimum tread depth, and a maximum three and one-half inch spacing between vertical guardrail members.
