A stair guardrail and handrail assembly is supported by a 1 1/4-inch nominal steel pipe handrail attached to a handrail bracket with concealed wall mounting. The handrail bracket connects to a continuous steel mounting plate spanning three studs within the wall assembly, positioned 3 feet above the stair tread. The stair tread consists of a 1/4-inch steel checker plate supported by a carrier angle and a C12 channel stringer sized per the fabricator. All stairs and guards are of welded construction with smooth-ground welds, and all steel surfaces are specified to be painted.
