This assembly details a large pipe or conduit penetration through an acoustical partition wall. The pipe is isolated from the wall assembly using a three-quarter-inch thick, 40-durometer neoprene pad on each side of the partition. The annular space between the pipe and the wall framing is filled with one-inch thick safing batt insulation and sealed with acoustical sealant. A pipe escutcheon is installed on both faces of the wall to cover the penetration. The wall cavity contains acoustical batt insulation between metal studs, and the pipe is supported by a duct hanger installed per mechanical, electrical, and plumbing seismic support detailing.
