A window head condition occurs beneath an overhung roof edge. The roof assembly incorporates minimum R20 rigid insulation over a roofing membrane and self-adhering high-temperature membrane, protected by roofing membrane-coated metal flashing and intermittent cleats at twenty-four inches on center with gasketed fasteners. The vertical exterior wall includes a primary water-resistive barrier, sealant, and self-adhering liner over framing. At the overhang soffit, metal flashing and self-adhering liner tie into a perforated horizontal hat channel on self-adhering shims. The window head features a head flashing with end dams above the window frame, which is sealed with backer rod and sealant, alongside minimum R20 spray foam insulation at the interior perimeter.
