A channel strut connects to a twenty gauge minimum metal deck topped with rigid insulation using two number twelve sheet metal screws with a three-quarter inch minimum clearance. An alternative option uses an L two inch by two inch by twelve gauge by eight inch angle bracket fastened with two number ten sheet metal screws. The assembly provides structural support anchorage from the metal deck framing system.
