An interior aluminum storefront head interfaces with a metal stud box header sized per structural requirements and wrapped in five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board with paint finish. Metal corner trim finishes the gypsum board edges at the frame junction. A quarter-inch shim sits between the framed header and the storefront framing member. Sealant and backer rod are applied to both sides of the joint between the frame and the wall assembly. Metal corner trim is provided at the ceiling interface where applicable.
