A one-quarter inch galvanized steel orifice plate is installed over the outlet pipe of a precast reinforced concrete structure. The orifice size is determined by the drainage plan, while the plate dimensions vary based on site requirements. A minimum three-foot sump depth is maintained below the outlet pipe and orifice plate to facilitate debris and silt collection and prevent clogging. The assembly includes a minimum clearance of zero point five feet from the structure walls.
