The head of the door opening is constructed with a metal stud box header filled with full-depth spray applied closed-cell thermal insulation. The exterior wall assembly consists of cold-formed metal stud framing with 5/8-inch exterior gypsum sheathing, covered by a fluid-applied air and vapor barrier and 2-1/2 inches of rigid cavity insulation. Self-adhered flashing wraps the door opening and laps over the wall flashing, which is paired with prefinished metal wall flashing and a 3/8-inch perimeter sealant caulk joint. A stone veneer panel system with thermally broken anchors is anchored to the exterior wall. The interior side is finished with 5/8-inch gypsum board over metal stud framing and a painted hollow metal door frame.
