This two-hour rated shaftwall partition assembly terminates at a continuous partition using steel CH or CT studs spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The assembly incorporates two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard sheathing on one side and a one-inch shaft liner panel on the other. Sound attenuation insulation is installed within the cavity as scheduled. A continuous J-runner is mechanically fastened to anchor the framing, and a continuous two-hour rated joint system is provided at the junction.
