The acoustic head-of-wall assembly connects the top of a gypsum board partition to the underside of a concrete floor slab. Two layers of five-eighths-inch gypsum board finish the wall framing, terminating below the slab edge. Mineral wool insulation fills the deflection gap at the partition head. Dimensions indicate a minimum five-eighths-inch and maximum two-inch joint clearance.
