A 1 1/2-inch exterior steel handrail is primed, painted, and mounted with a minimum 1 1/2-inch clearance from a concrete wall panel. The handrail connects to a 1/4-inch by 3-inch diameter steel plate welded to the handrail tube. This mounting plate is secured to the concrete panel using three 1/4-inch by 3-inch expansion bolts spaced at 6 feet on center with 6 inches from each end. All welds are ground smooth and pits filled as required. The concrete surface and handrail are finished to be free of sharp or abrasive elements with rounded edges.
