An aluminum window system mullion rests on shims above exterior framing and exterior sheathing, with insulated glass installed within the frame. A pre-finished aluminum sill pan matches the exterior aluminum composite metal panels and is installed over a waterproof pan sloped a minimum of 1/4 inch per foot. Backer rod and sealant seal the joint beneath the mullion, while weep holes provide drainage. High temperature water-resistive barrier and self-adhered flashing protect the exterior wall assembly.
