This assembly details a granite stone trim connection to a exterior metal stud wall. The backup wall consists of a six-inch metal stud exterior wall framed with five-eighths-inch gypsum board on the interior, and sheathed with foam-plastic board insulation serving as an air barrier with taped joints. Two inches of spray polyurethane foam insulation fills the stud cavity. A stainless steel stone support angle is anchored at the corner of the stone, designed and installed by the stone mason, supporting Bethal White granite panels. A three-eighths-inch joint filled with backer rod and sealant accommodates movement.
