This elevation detail shows a typical steel pipe guardrail constructed with one and one-half inch outer diameter steel pipe rails. One-half inch diameter steel baluster rods are spaced at a maximum of four inches on center between the horizontal rails. All balusters are welded top and bottom to the steel pipes. The overall rail assembly spans a maximum of five feet on center between supports.
