Suspended ceiling suspension relies on twelve-gauge wire for lay-in ceilings or eight-gauge wire for gypsum board ceilings spaced at four feet on center each way, featuring a minimum of three tight turns in one and a half inches at both ends. Bracing wires use twelve-gauge for lay-in or eight-gauge for gypsum board, with a minimum of four tight turns in one and a half inches, oriented ninety degrees to each other at twelve feet on center with the first point six feet from each wall. Compression struts consist of one and a half-inch deep twenty-gauge wall studs attached to main runners with quarter-inch machine bolts and to the structure with three-sixteenths-inch diameter power-driven fasteners, remaining supplementary to hanger wires. Ceiling fixtures require diagonal wires attached to opposing corners at a maximum of forty-five degrees. Bracing wires must maintain a maximum distance of two inches from cross runners.
