This assembly details a door threshold transition between an interior tile floor and exterior concrete pavers. The interior tile is set on thin-set over a finished concrete foundation wall. A tile floor edge transition strip is installed at the threshold, with a sealant joint and backer rod separating the transition from the exterior pavers. The exterior paving system consists of finished concrete pavers over two inches of sand, four inches of stone, and compacted native soil as specified in the geotechnical report. A one-half inch gap is maintained between the foundation wall and the paver base.
