A one-and-a-half-inch outer diameter steel pipe guardrail post is welded directly to the top flange of a metal channel stair stringer. A matching one-and-a-half-inch outer diameter steel pipe handrail attaches to the post using a bent steel rod support welded to the post. A four-inch toe board sits at the base of the guardrail above the metal stair tread. The stair tread and its connection detail to the stringer are coordinated per the stair manufacturer's design. Vertical dimensions indicate a three-foot-six-inch guardrail height and a three-foot handrail height.
