A recessed cabinet or equipment installs within non-rated and rated gypsum board partitions. Double studs frame around the opening. For non-rated partitions, metal corner trim finishes the gypsum board edges around the recess. For rated partitions, the assembly includes a 1-inch gypsum core board backed by twenty-gauge sheet metal angles at the sides and a J-channel at the top and bottom of the opening.
