An aluminum window system mullion connects to a metal stud framing backup wall with a pre-finished aluminum angle matching the mullion finish. The exterior wall assembly incorporates a weather-resistive barrier over one-half-inch glass-mat gypsum sheathing board and insulation sized per energy calculations. The joint between the aluminum angle and the storefront framing is sealed with backer rod and sealant, alongside an outline of future finish.
