Hinged doors require a minimum clear opening width of thirty-two inches measured with the door positioned at a ninety-degree angle to the frame. Sliding and folding doors also mandate a thirty-two inch minimum clear width when fully open. Doorways without doors require a thirty-six inch minimum clear width when the depth of the passage exceeds twenty-four inches.
