A structural steel beam sized per plan connects to a hollow structural section assembly formed by HSS 3x2x5/16 members. The connection is secured with typical five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on both sides of the vertical plate elements. A one-inch dimension separates the lower structural components as detailed in the section view.
