An insulated glass aluminum window system mullion supports the storefront head beneath a pre-finished aluminum flashing. The flashing matches the exterior weathering steel panel and interfaces with backer rod and sealant. The weathering steel panel is installed over rigid insulation and a drainage cavity set between vertical Z channels. A high-temperature water-resistive barrier covers a one-half-inch glass-mat gypsum sheathing board over cold-formed metal stud framing. Insulation is installed per energy calculations within the metal stud framing, adjacent to an outline of future finish.
