A primary drywall suspension system hangs from the existing structure above via twelve-gauge galvanized hanger wires spaced at four feet on center with seismic wire bracing at eight inches on center. A grid load transfer bracket by USG or equivalent transfers loads, and additional twelve-gauge hanger wires are added within six inches if the primary wire does not fall within six inches of a light fixture. A cross-braced twelve-gauge hanger wire stabilizes the drywall suspension system. The assembly terminates at the perimeter with a two-inch by three-quarter-inch typical wall angle secured with a one-eighth-inch pop rivet at all members on one wall, leaving a three-quarter-inch space at the opposing wall.
