A 1x6 maple wood chair rail with a clear stained finish features a one-half-inch high by one-eighth-inch deep rabbet at the top and bottom. The rail is secured to five-eighths-inch gypsum board over metal stud framing spaced at twenty-four inches on center using stainless steel recessed screws with square drives placed at eighteen inches on center. A two-by-six fire-retardant treated wood blocking is provided within the partition as required for attachment. Continuous caulk joints are applied typically at the top and bottom of the maple rail.
