A thermally broken aluminum storefront door frame sets against a six-inch cold-formed metal stud framing wall with exterior brick veneer. A continuous fluid-applied air barrier coats both sides of the backup wall. Sealant and backer rod fill the joint between the storefront frame and the masonry return.
