A roof drain assembly is set into a concrete or structural steel deck with an underlying air and vapor barrier. Insulation is securely fastened over the vapor barrier and slopes toward the drain bowl. A PVC membrane flashing extends over the tapered edge of the insulation and is secured with a PVC manufacturer fastener, then joined with a hot-air weld. A clamping ring fitted with sealant underneath compresses the PVC membrane to the drain flange. An overflow drain features a two-inch riser positioned two inches above the standard drain inlet at the low point of the adjacent roof. A drain strainer sits atop the assembly.
