A five-inch diameter hollow structural section outrigger is welded to the face of a wide-flange steel column. The window frame assembly incorporates a wood expansion joint with sealant on both the top and bottom faces at the connection. Blackout shades and a guide channel are anchored directly at the window frame connection. The metal frame alignment is coordinated relative to the structural grid and column face.
