The assembly is supported by a 12 gauge vertical hanger wire extending to the underside of the structural framing above. Four horizontal 12 gauge seismic splay brace wires are anchored with a minimum of four turns per wire. A double metal stud compression strut is installed with spacing up to 16 inches on center, tied back to a 1-1/2 inch by 16 gauge runner channel spaced at 4 feet on center. The ceiling grid incorporates 7/8 inch by 26 gauge hat channels supporting gypsum board, fastened with two 12-14 self-tapping metal screws at the stud to T-bar connection.
